LAST GAME: The B-Mets used a combination of ten hits, six walks and three Erie SeaWolves errors to earn a 7-2 win on Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium. Matt Bowman surrendered just one run over five innings to earn the win in his Double-A debut. Wilfredo Tovar drove in three runs to lead Binghamton their third straight victory. Jayce Boyd broke a tie game in the fifth by depositing an RBI double into the right-field corner against reliever Matt CrouseTJ Ferrell surrendered two runs over 4.2 innings in the loss.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Darin Gorski makes his second start of the season. The southpaw suffered the loss on Opening Day, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits over 3.2 innings against the Akron RubberDucks. Gorski baffled the Fisher Cats over two starts last season, collecing one win, compiling a 0.77 ERA and holding the team to a .081 batting average.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: RHP Austin Bibens-Dirkx takes the mound for his second start of the year. He tossed seven strong innings against the Trenton Thunder on April 5, but took a no-decision when the bullpen failed to preserve a two-run lead. The Oregon native allowed just one run on three hits and struck out two. Signed as a Minor League free agent in January 2013, Bibens-Dirkx has played in the Mariners, Cubs and Nationals systems.

ROLLING TO THREE: After being held to seven runs on 16 hits in their first three games of the season, the B-Mets offense has ripped opposing pitching to the tune of 19 runs on 32 hits in their last three games. Binghamton is hitting .308 as a team during the stretch. They have compiled three straight double-digit hit efforts.

TOVAR TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS: Hitting in the ninth spot in the lineup in the first six games of the season, B-Mets infielder Wilfredo Tovar has gone 6-for-17 with a triple and five RBI to open the 2014 season. Tovar hit .263 last season with Binghamton, including a .299 mark after the All-Star Break. A member of the 40-man roster, he spent the final two weeks of the season in the Major Leagues.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: After compiling a 4-2 record on their season-opening homestand, the B-Mets hit the road for  a week-long trip to Manchester and Portland. The B-Mets went 42-27 away from home last season.

NINE-FOR-NINE: In his first three innings on the mound, B-Mets reliever Jack Leathersich recorded all nine of his outs via the strikeout. The streak ended on the final out of Wednesday’s game when James Krizan popped out to third. In 29.1 innings with the B-Mets last year, he racked up 55 strikeouts.

TWO-OUT MAGIC: The B-Mets plated six of their seven runs last night with two outs. 22 of Binghamton’s last 25 runs over their previous five games have come home with two outs.

CAPPING WITH A GEM: B-Mets starter Darin Gorski ended his 2013 campaign by tossing seven shutout innings against the Fisher Cats on August 30, 2013. He allowed two hits, struck out five and earned his sixth win of the season.

AGAINST THE FISHER CATS: The B-Mets went 11-8 against New Hampshire last season, including a 7-5 mark at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The B-Mets hit .263 as a team and compiled a staff 4.28 ERA. In 19 games, Binghamton launched 22 home runs.

SCOUTING THE FISHER CATS: New Hampshire opens their home schedule after going 2-4 on their season-opening road trip. The team has dropped four straight after winning their first two games of the season.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets continue their first road series of the season against the Fisher Cats on Friday night at 6:35 PM. RHP Rainy Lara makes his second start against RHP Scott Copeland.
