Northeast Delta Dental Stadium  Manchester, NH  1:35 PM

LAST GAME: The New Hampshire Fisher Cats racked up 15 hits, including 10 against starter Tyler Pill, and handed the B-Mets a 9-4 loss on Saturday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The defeat snapped Binghamton’s five-game winning streak. Kevin Nolan set the tone early by launching a three-run homer in the first inning. New Hampshire never looked back, tacking four more runs on Pill’s tab before plating two more against the B-Mets bullpen. Matt Clark launched his third home run of the season and Kevin Plawecki drove in his first run as a B-Met.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Hansel Robles makes his second start of the season and first against the Fisher Cats. Robles struck out eight over five shutout innings in his Double-A debut against the Akron RubberDucks last Sunday. He walked one and allowed just two hits in the no-decision. He was limited to 17 starts last season between St. Lucie (High-A) and GCL Mets (R) due to a pair of shoulder injuries. Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Mets out of Bonao, Dominican Republic in August 2008, he is in his sixth season in the Mets organization.

NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: RHP Aaron Sanchez makes his third Double-A start and first against the B-Mets. The hard-throwing righty allowed five hits and struck out three over five innings in a no-decision in his previous start against the Reading Fightin Phils on April 8. Selected as the 34th overall pick in the 2010 draft out of Barstow HS (CA), Sanchez is in his first year at Double-A. He spent all of the 2013 season with Dunedin (High-A) going 4-5 with 3.34 ERA.

SNAPPED AT FIVE: The Binghamton Mets five-game winning streak came to an end with their 9-4 loss on Saturday afternoon. The streak, which briefly bumped them into first place, fell one win shy of their longest winning streak during the 2013 season.

STILL STREAKING: B-Mets outfielder Darrell Ceciliani has opened the season with a six-game hitting streak. Ceciliani is hitting .360 (9-for-25) to start the season with three doubles, a triple and six RBI.

DÉJÀ VU: B-Mets first baseman Matt Clark has hit a home run in each of his last two games. In similar fashion, both homers have come to lead off the seventh inning against left-handed relievers who have just entered the game. Clark has three home runs this season.

NABBING THEM: B-Mets outfielder Cory Vaughn threw out a pair of runners at second base on Saturday and leads the team with three outfield assists. In 62 games in the outfield last year, Vaughn amassed four outfield assists. The B-Mets have four outfield assists this season.

SERIES FINALE: The B-Mets can secure their second series victory of the season with a win in the finale this afternoon. Binghamton won 26 series last year. They are 2-0 in series finales in 2014.

NO NAIL BITERS: Of Binghamton’s first nine games of the season, six have been decided by four runs or more, including their last five contests. Only one game, their 5-4 win over Akron on April 6, was decided by a single run.

GOING DEEP IN MANCHESTER: The B-Mets have hit six home runs in the first three games of their series at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. They hit 18 home runs in 12 games in this ballpark last year.

MORE DOUBLES: Binghamton collected two more doubles in Saturday’s game, kicking their total this season to 21, the third-most in the Eastern League. The B-Mets have had six multiple-double games, including four games with four doubles as a team.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets hit the road to take on the Portland Sea Dogs, starting a three-game series Monday night at 6:00 PM. RHP Greg Peavey takes the hill in the opener against LHP Henry Owens. It’s their first of three series in Portland.
