BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Hansel Robles makes his Double-A debut today for the B-Mets. He was limited to 17 starts last season between St. Lucie (High-A) and GCL Mets (R) due to a pair of shoulder injuries. Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Mets out of Bonao, Dominican Republic in August 2008, he is in his sixth season in the Mets organization. He went 5-4 with a 3.72 ERA in 15 starts in the Florida State League last year.
AKRON STARTER: RHP Will Roberts makes his first start of the season in his second go-around with Akron. The Virginia native split last season between Carolina (High-A) and Akron (AA). He combined to go 8-12 with a 4.77 ERA in 25 starts. He joined the Aeros in late April and went 7-9 with a 4.57 ERA in 21 starts. In his only previous appearance against the B-Mets (August 24, 2013), he was tagged for seven runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings.
LOCKING IT DOWN: B-Mets reliever Chasen Bradford posted a shutout seventh inning in his first appearances of the season, securing the save in Binghamton’s 6-3 win in the opener yesterday. Bradford collected four saves last year between St. Lucie and Binghamton.
BULLPEN BOUNCE BACK: After surrendering five runs and issuing eight walks on Thursday night, the B-Mets bullpen combined to toss 4.2 shutout innings of relief in two games on Saturday. Four relievers surrendered just two hits and struck out six.

Reliever Jon Velasquez opened his Double-A career with a perfect inning, blanking the RubberDucks in the seventh inning of game two. It was Velasquez’s first appearance in affiliated ball since 2010.
IN THE HITS COLUMN: The Binghamton Mets have been out-hit in each of their first three games. They have been limited to four hits or fewer twice. The B-Mets are still searching for their first home run of the season. Akron has already launched three longballs.
GUNNING THEM DOWN: Both B-Mets catchers, Kevin Plawecki and Xorge Carrillo, threw out an attempted base stealer yesterday. Plawecki trimmed down Giovanny Urshela in the second inning of game one, while Carrillo nailed Ronny Rodriguez in the third inning of the nightcap.
SECOND CHANCE: B-Mets infielder Wilfredo Tovar has logged two starts at second base in the first three games of the season. Tovar played just four games at that position for the B-Mets last year. Tovar led all Eastern League shortstops in fielding percentage last season.
TO THE HOT CORNER: B-Mets outfielder/infielder Dustin Lawley made his first appearance of the season at third base in the nightcap yesterday. The Alabama native logged 102 games in the outfield and 17 games at third base for St. Lucie and Las Vegas last year. He made just one error in the outfield and three at third base.
