Alderson wasn't a fan of overspending on free agency, which is fine in terms of building long-term, but if the Mets want to cash in on deGrom's prime (he's 32), they need to spend at the top of the market immediately. https://t.co/DRlovxp6Tt

I just didn't see this one coming.
Advisor maybe. President no.
The timing of this announcement is obviously designed to make the other owners happy with the sale.

I don't like this.
I believe it was a step back.
I had hoped for a David Stearns type hire.
Oh well... back to Sandy & Co.
Once he gets owners approval, he can do what he wants. Get the deal done first.
New owner, same mistakes. Cohen should have stayed away from any ex GM that ran the Mets. The Mets need smart hires.
I hope that at least he keeps the ones responsible for the drafts, they have been good lately.
Same as it ever was...
I wonder what Sandy could have done with the Mets in his previous tenure if he had been allowed to spend like the Yanks?
Maybe Sandy is a one year transitional candidate to allow Cohen time to come up with a younger, healthy, top tier replacement
Tom, is that you?
Mack and all....I will be speaking to Adam Guttridge next week and if u have any questions u want me to ask let me know. My son-in-law worked for his dad for 30 yrs and got the contact.
