Anthony Susac is a 2021 RHP with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Sacramento, CA who attends Jesuit. Big and strong physical athlete. Compact arm action in back that hides the ball extremely well, has sound directional mechanics that he repeats well. Classic sinker/slider pitcher, works up to 93 mph on his fastball with consistent late heavy life in the zone. Slider is a quality present pitch with lateness and bite with good feel for the zone on the pitch. Has confidence in his change up and can move it to both sides of the plate with ideal arm speed and deception. Three-pitch durable starter type whose raw stuff still has a chance to tick up a bit.
Susac is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-hander who throws a four-seam fastball, slider, and changeup from a compact arm action. He also repeats his smooth mechanics well.
His fastball sits in the low-90s, regularly hitting 91 to 93 mph. His four-seamer features plenty of arm side run due to his three-quarters arm slot. His slider serves as his outpitch, and he features solid command and plenty of confidence in the pitch. It sits in the high-70s and sometimes features some slurvy movement. He also has confidence in his changeup, which serves as a quality off-speed pitch.

This is the kind of pitcher that could even improve some, but having the ability to hide the ball some and then the late movement catches my attention. Kind of a righty version of Sid Fernandez, El Sid got it up to 95 but stayed in the low 90’s. However, all we heard is the ball comes out of his armpit. I like these kinds of pitchers more than I like a guy that flies open like Edwin Diaz that throws 99 but is easy to track and needs the slider to be so filthy that it keeps guys off the fastball.
The most important pitch a pitcher can develop is the one that a batter can't see coming at him.
