Tyler Thornton
RHP Arizona State
Mack's spin -
I'm picking Thornton much earlier here than most place him. The general opinion is he is currently a 4-th-5th round pick.
I believe Thornton's value will greatly increase after this season.

Tyler Thornton
Arizona State RHP
Ht: 6-3 | Wt: 180 | B-T: L-R
Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted
Age At Draft: 21.0
Thornton was a freshman All-American in 2019 and the Freshman of the Year after posting a 2.71 ERA over 76.1 innings with St. Mary’s. Thornton then transferred to Arizona State for the 2020 season and was off to a solid start over 24 innings, with a 3.38 ERA, 25 strikeouts (9.4 per nine) and seven walks (2.6 per nine). He has a lean and projectable, 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame that should add more weight and muscle in the future, but his stuff is average at best currently. His fastball sits around 89-90 mph now and none of his secondary offerings project as more than average, so despite his solid collegiate track record as a starter, scouts want to see him take a step forward next spring. If he does, Thornton has the strike-throwing ability and starter traits to go high in the draft, but without a louder fastball it’s tough to project him to be an impact arm at the next level.

20. Arizona State
Tyler Thornton, RHP (2021): The loss of Spencer Torkelson, Alika Williams, and Gage Workman to the pros robbed ASU of most of its star power, but expect the mature Thornton to anchor a deep Sun Devils pitching staff.
