Mets.com: Carrasco's sore elbow not 'too concerning'.

NY Post: Carlos Carrasco in danger of missing start of Mets season. “After throwing live batting practice Monday, the Mets right-hander informed team officials of elbow soreness, and he will be shut down from throwing for “a few days,” according to manager Luis Rojas. Carrasco still has not appeared in a Grapefruit League game this spring. Rojas said Carrasco told him such discomfort isn’t new for him — he had experienced it in spring training during his Cleveland tenure.

Newsday: Mets now know what it feels like to win Game 7 of the World Series after '27 Outs' drill.  “The drill consists of coaches hitting the ball to a fully-manned defense and the defense recording 27 "outs" without making an error…the Mets were up to the task and were rewarded after 26 outs with a yelled-out call to make the last one the final out of the seventh game of the World Series. And to celebrate.”

MLB.com: Mets agree to terms with 15 players, renew 2 players. “The Mets renewed the contracts of infielder Pete Alonso and infielder Jeff McNeil”.

NY Post: Mets’ Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil won’t get money they asked for.  “Alonso and McNeil, who are not yet arbitration-eligible, have zero leverage in negotiations, but can seek any financial arrangement…Alonso and McNeil will be arbitration-eligible for the first time after this season.”

Mets.com: Florida school gets major gift from Lindor. “The Mets shortstop donated $1 million toward the construction of the state-of-the-art building, which will serve 203 middle school students. He also established the Francisco Lindor Scholarship Fund, which will provide selected current and prospective students with financial assistance to attend the Academy.”

Jacob Resnick SNY.TV: How close are Mets' top prospects to Queens? Predicting where 9 key minor leaguers will begin 2021. Thomas Szapucki and Khalil Lee - Syracuse; Matthew Allan, Mark Vientos; and Ronny Mauricio  – Brooklyn; J.T. Ginn, and Pete Crow-Armstrong – Gulf Coast Mets; Francisco Alvarez; and Brett Baty - St. Lucie;

I think missing last year to the pandemic may push some of these prospects forward.  Mauricio and Vientos could be in Binghamton.

I had a positive Cookie article scheduled for today initially, but pushed it back to next week a few days ago. Glad I did.

I don’t like Cranky Elbow cookies at all.

Mack, I start Ronny Mauricio in Binghamton like McNeil and Alonso in 2018. Both tore it up and moved to AAA quickly.

I love seeing a guy like Manny Rodriguez bulk up. With muscle. So much competition, a guy losing a full season needs every edge he can build for himself.

Allan and Ginn will be vying for #1 pitcher within 2-3 years, unless Jake is throwing 103 in 2 years, which is certainly possible

Tom - the amazing thing about that M-Rod post was that he was named defensive player of the year in Australia! I think I saw him make 3 errors in one game for the Cyclones one game (could have easily been charged with 5)...he had all the tools though and made a lot of improvement with Fonzie over the year. He also had the ability to beat out a slow infield grounder. He is someone to watch.

I look forward to following Manny Rodriguez. Maybe an article on him, by you or me, would be a good idea? Or even a collaborative article - you lead the article and say your thoughts, I add mine. Thoughts?

Good idea.

It will also be very interesting where Manny and Carlos Cortes end up next year after spending 2019 in St. Lucie. Both would have been in Binghamton in 2020. They may start in Binghamton next year with a call to Syracuse in July.

I think Cortes goes right to Syracuse, Manny to AA. Cortes has demonstrated a more advanced bat.

John, whenever you do draft your part of the M Rod article, let me know and I will quickly add my piece - but I want that video clip to be part of the article.

I'm getting a little more excited about the potential Binghamton roster this year.

Earlier I was thinking that all the better prospects were still too young for AA and we'd be mostly filler. Now I'm thinking there might be some very good up and coming players here.

Bill, we all need a brain re-adjust - the fact that the 18 month off season will result in teenagers becoming men, in a way that a normal 6 month off season does not. You should have a really good group of players up in Binghamton - and delaying them a month(?) will mean their games won't be played in mid-winter April weather. When I watched MILB.com in 2019, those April games in Syracuse and Binghamton were COLD - and foolishly a number of those were night games, making cold turn to frigid.

Oh yea, NYSEG stadium is a cold place in April after the sun goes down. I have frozen my fingers there a time or two. Can't wait for live ball back in town.
