Mack - 2022 MLB Draft Scouting Report - RHP - Peyton Pallette

Peyton Pallette

RHP      6-1     175     Arkansas

2021 Arkansas stat line - 15-G, 11-starts, 1-2, 4.02, 56-IP, 67-K

Mack's spin -

Pallette had a shaky season in 2021 for the Razorbacks, but Brian Recca of SF Draft Talk (see below) convinced me that I had him too low on my board.

I have adjusted him to my 12th RHP.

I am hunting for a stud starter when the Mets pick at 1.10. Who do you think will still be on the board then.

Brian Recca - @brian_recca

Brian - A lot can (and will) happen between now and then so it’s hard to say who will be available. Peyton Pallette has all the elements you look for in a potential top of the rotation arm. He has the body, athleticism, arm speed, and arsenal that few amateur prospects possess at this stage. His fastball is in the mid 90s and generates a ton of  whiffs and weak contact. His breaking ball has ridiculous spin rates well above 3,000 RPM’s and is a strikeout pitch when it’s on. He could have two double plus grade pitches and the changeup shows potential as well.

 7-27-21 - Prospect Love Top 100 2022 Prospects -

 20. Peyton Pallette

 Right-Handed Pitcher, Arkansas

Pallette is one of the most electrifying arms in 2022, a college class that appears to lack the depth of recent classes. He’s got a wiry, yet athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, featuring an extremely quick right arm. The fastball has been as hot as 97 MPH in 2021, mostly sitting 92-95 MPH, holding velocity deep into starts. His curveball is a complete buzzsaw with sweep and good vertical tilt. It sits around 80 MPH and has some of the highest spin rates you will quite literally ever see. In 2021 against South Carolina, he broke one off at 3,530 RPM. Elite, elite zip. He flashes a change-up in the high-80’s, but it’s sparsely utilized and still a point of development. Command comes and goes, but he’s got big arm talent and is getting better as time goes on.

 7-17-21 - BPJ -

 Peyton Pallette, RHP, Arkansas

Pallette is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed pitcher who has an electric arm. He uses a low-effort and repeatable delivery. His fastball sits in the mid-90s and tops out at 98 mph. Pallette’s late-breaking curveball serves as his outpitch.
