Tucker Toman’s busy summer should help him get ready for a big senior season at Hammond, the defending SCISA 3A champions. As a junior, he hit .502 with eight homers and 25 RBIs.
81 games, .407-1-69 with a 1.070 OPS
Mack's spin -
Mad stat lines.
Toman is a legit prep hitter that currently lines up as my 4th third baseman.

ANTOINE JEAN
University of Alabama, LHP
Another Canuck to take a look at in Tuscaloosa. Jean is a slenderly built lefty who figures to slot in as a weekend starter in 2022. He’s finally healthy, getting over injuries that hampered him in the spring. He hasn't pitched many innings overall due to a pandemic shortened 2020 season and injury, however he had a solid trip to the Cape this summer finishing 2-1 with a 3.76 ERA. His best pitch is what is best described as a plus changeup and a fastball sitting 87-89mph. He also works in a budding slider as well. He’s a strike thrower with physical projection remaining. There will certainly be plenty of eyes on Jean if he works his way into a weekend role in the SEC next year.
2021 Alabama stat line - 7-G, 6-ST, 2-1, 3.76, 26.1-IP, 24-K, 16-BB
Mack's spin -
Only ink so far... but he's going to have to cut down that BB/9 ratio a bunch to make my board.

WEST Catcher
Jimmy Crooks (Oklahoma)
Catcher was a bit light in terms of prospects on the West side of the cape, but Jimmy Crooks had a solid summer at Wareham. Over 115 plate appearances, Crooks slashed .260/.330/.346 with two homers. While the power didn't show, he did show good feel for hitting and was an all-around solid defender behind the plate. Another year of production in Big 12 play should ensure Crooks a position near the top of the board of 2022 college catchers.
2021 Oklahoma stat line: 54-G, 223-AB, .287/.385/.502, 10-HR
Mack's spin -
Two nice stat lines, but last season and on the Cape.
Crooks looks... get it?... like we need to keep an eye on him. Could be the 'steal' of the... okay, I'll move on.
Catche #5.

GABRIEL HUGHES
Right-Handed Pitcher
Gonzaga
Hughes, a Team USA member, suffered an injury in 2021 for Gonzaga, keeping him off the mound for about half of his freshman campaign, but when he was on the mound, it was awfully impressive. Big fastball, coupled with a downer curveball and a changeup. Hughes has scouts in the Pacific Northwest very intrigued in 2022, though he’ll have to prove he can perform at a high level to receive the draft helium some suspect could come.
2021 Gonzaga stat line - 10-starts, 4-2, 3.23, 61.1-IP, 67-K
Mack's spin -
93-95 FB... hard upper 80s/T-91 slider... mid-80s change.
Questionable competition.
My 1th RHP.
