METS FARM HURLERS TRAINING TO PITCH IN A HOMER DERBY
I decided to look at recent pitching stats for Syracuse Mets pitchers.
In the last 30 days, Messrs. Hamel, Vasil, Tidwell, Sproat, Zuber, Suarez and Hartwig have racked up a combined 109 innings in AAA.
How many runs have those 7 hurlers allowed? Take a guess.
70?
Higher.
80?
Higher.
OK, 100?
Higher. Much higher.
117 runs allowed in 109 innings.
Jaw-dropping.
The future, folks.

See?
Tom can go high... :)
Ha Ha. Well, I have simply never saw stats that extreme - I guess the opposite would have been 109 innings, ten runs.
But to show I can "go high", over the same 30 day period, Fujinami has a 0.47 WHIP, and Eric Orze a 0.96 WHIP. Dang good relief.
And Luke Ritter, with 88 RBIs, has a 5 RBI lead in the International League. If he could only catch....
Ritter I think is 3rd in IL HRs. The HR leader, Luken Bakker, also 27 years old, had 32 HRs in about 370 at bats. He did, unlike Ritter, get a call up - to the St Louis Cardinals. 20 at bats, 2 HRs, 9 RBIs. More RBIs than Alvarez since the ASB.
Mack, speaking of Pete, last 30 games, .211, FORTY FIVE K'S. Wazzup with Kong there?
Most of them should have been shut down at least 30 days ago
He is not a $250mil player
Mack, what would you pay for Pete for 3 years?
$78 M
$75MIL with 4th yr team optional 30mil
I find myself in the same monetary range
He is going to be one unhappy camper after squandering his FA opportunity this year. I think his best chance is to sign a short term extension with the Mets and hope for a couple good years to replenish his stock.
I don't expect him back. Somebody will overpay him.
