Savannah (15-9) – Not scheduled
St Lucie (16-8) @ Tampa (10-14) – Suspended (Lightning)
Binghamton (14-11) edges Erie (12-11) 6-5
Mark Cohoon started, and pitched 4.0 stellar innings, allowing 0 ER, 2 H, 0 BB, 3 K.
He was followed by Shawn Teufel, who gave up 1 unearned run on 1 hit and a walk in 1 inning.
Uncharacteristically, Jack Leathersich (BS, 1) was blasted for 4 ER on 4 H and a BB, while striking out 3 in his 2.0 innings of relief. Fortunately, he was picked up by Chase Hutchingson (W, 2-0) and Jeff Walters (S, 8) who each pitched a scoreless inning. Hutchingson allowed 1 hit in the 8th inning to get the W, while Walters pitched a perfect 9th for the save.
Wilfredo Tovar: 2-4, RBI, R.
Blake Forsythe: 2-4, 2B, HR, RBI, 2 R. Forsythe has had a stellar April, with a slash line of .333/.404/.644/1.048. He could finally be realizing the potential that some scouts have seen in him.
Danny Muno: 3-3, 2B, BB, RBI, R. Muno’s 8th inning double scored Forsythe with the winning run.
Las Vegas (12-12) blasts Reno (8-18) 10-2
Finally, Zack Wheeler (W, 1-1) is the Zack Wheeler we’ve been waiting to see, getting his first win of the season. 6.2 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 8 K. Only 1 walk while striking out 8. Yeah! And offensively, Wheeler had a hit and a walk in 3 PA’s, driving in a run and scoring one too.
Armando Rodriguez: 1.1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 4 K. All 4 outs on strikeouts. Nice!
Omar Quintanilla: 2-3, 2 BB, RBI, R.
Jamie Hoffmann: 2-3, 2B, 2 BB, 2 R.
Andrew Brown: 1-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R. For the month of April, Brown, in 93 AB’s, is now hitting .355/.436/.581/1.017. Don’t be surprised to see Brown making his Citifield debut in the near future.
