Johan Santana made his second rehab start for St. Lucie. Santana was shaky in the first inning allowing one run on three hits but tossed a perfect second inning to end his outing. Mike Powers relieved Santana and shut the Cardinal offense down to give the Mets a chance to come back. Gilbert Gomez doubled in two runs in the third inning to give the Mets a 2-1 lead and a bases loaded walk to Pedro Zapata forced in Cory Vaughn giving the Mets a 3-1 advantage through four innings. That would end up being the final as Powers pitched into the seventh and Josh Edgin came in to induce a game ending ground ball to secure the 3-1 victory.

Mike Powers got the win tossing 4.1 innings allowing only two hits. Gilbert Gomez had the big hit driving in the eventual game winning run in the third inning. Jose Coronado had two hits and scored a run in the win and Josh Edgin notched his eleventh save of the season.

The Mets fell behind early in game two and could not recover losing 10-5. Starter Kyle Allen was pulled after the Cardinals batted around in the top of the first inning scoring eight runs in the frame. Cory Vaughn hit a three-run home run to cut the lead to 8-3 and Wilmer Flores added a two run triple in the fifth inning to make it 10-5 which would be the final.

Cory Vaughn led the Mets with two hits including his ninth home run of the season while driving in three and scoring once. Pedro Zapata and Gilbert Gomez each added a hit and run scored and Wilmer Flores had a hit and drove in a pair in the 10-5 loss.
