Mets Fall to Bradenton 4-2
PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA. — Jayce Boyd went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, but the Mets fell to Bradenton 4-2 in the series opener on Sunday at Tradition Field.

The Mets trailed 4-0 in the seventh, before Boyd’s two-run home run cut the deficit to 4-2.

Matt Bowman was charged with his first loss of the season despite allowing three runs and five hits over six innings.

Bret Mitchell allowed one run in two innings and Hamilton Bennett pitched a scoreless ninth.

The Mets will return to action on Monday, June 24 at Tradition Field at 6:30  p.m. for the middle game of the series. Alex Panteliodis is the scheduled starter for the Mets.
