Mets Minor League Report – June 28

Las Vegas (41-38) tramples Tacoma (48-34) 9-0.
Newly acquired Giancarlo Alverado pitched 6 scoreless innings, 6 H, 2 BB, 7 K.
Greg Peavy allowed only 1 H in his inning of work, Sean Henn pitched a perfect 8th inning, and D.J. Mitchell pitched a scoreless 9th, allowing 2 hits.
Francisco Pena: 1-2, HR, BB, 5 RBI, R.
Eric Campbell: 3-5, BB, 2 R.
Kai Gronauer, Rylan Sandoval and  Brian Bixler also had HRs for the 51’s on this 4 HR night.

Binghamton (48-28) blasts Trenton (40-38) 7-3
Cory Mazzoni: (W, 4-2) 6.0 IP, 3 R, 5 H, 2 BB, 10 K.  Nice work Cory.
Chase Hutchingson (1.0 IP, H, BB, K) and Adam Kolarek (S, 1) (2.0 IP. 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K) held the Thunder scoreless the rest of the way.
Josh Rodriguez: 2-4, 2B, BB, RBI, R.
Travis Taijeron: 1-3, HR, BB, 2 RBI, R.
Blake Forsythe: 2-3, 2B, 3B, BB, 2 R.

Palm Beach (34-43) over St Lucie (41-35) 5-2 with 3 in the 10th.
Matt Bowman pitched a stellar 8.0 innings: 1 R, 2 H, (HR) 2 BB, 7 K.
Uncharacteristically, T.J. Chism (BS, 2) (L, 0-4) gave up a run in the 9th to tie the game, and 3 in the 10th to take the loss.
Dustin Lawley: 2-4, RBI.
Jayce Boyd: 2-4, 3B, RBI, R.

Savannah (47-30) stifles Rome (38-40) 3-0.
Matthew Koch pitched a scoreless gem for 7.1 innings (4 H, 0 BB, 8 K) and Paul Sewald (W, 1-1) (1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K) completed the shutout.
Chad Zurcher: 1-4, RBI, R.

Brooklyn (5-6) tops Hudson Valley (8-4) 7-4.
Seth Lugo (W, 1-0) was mediocre (5.0 IP, 4 R, 6 H, 2 BB, 3 K) but got the win.
Tim Peterson pitched a solid 3.0 innings (0 R, H, 0 BB, 2 K) and Shawn Teufel (S, 1) (1.0 IP, 0 R, H, 0 BB, K.
Matthew Oberste: 4-5, RBI, 2 R.
Alexander sanchez: 2-4, RBI.
Colton Plaia: 2-4, 2B, BB, 3 RBI.

Greenville (4-5) finally tops Kingsport (2-7) 2-1 in 15 innings.
Kingsport gets super pitching from 4 hurlers:
Andrew Massie: 5.0 IP, R, 3 H, (HR) 0 BB, 4 K.
Persio Reyes: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 3 H, BB, 3 K.
Ricardo Jacquez: 3.0 IP, 0 R, H, BB, 4 K.
And possibly best of all was Luis Rengel: (L, 0-1) 3.1 IP, R, 0 ER, H, 3 BB, 6 K, taking the loss on an unearned run in the bottom of the 15th inning.
Amed Rosario: 3-6, HR, RBI, R.

GCL Nationals (6-1) slip past GCL Mets (1-4) 6-5.
Hansel Robles: 6.0 IP, 2 R, 8 H, BB, 2 K.
In a very unusual situation, Dan Herrmann (L, 0-1) (0.1 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, H, 0 BB) took the loss due to runners he left on base scoring after he left, while Ramon Estevez (BS, 1) (0.2 IP, R, 3 H, 0 BB, K) blew a save after relieving the losing pitcher.
Ruben Tejada, in a rehab assignment: 1-2, 2B, RBI.
Wuilmer Beccera: 1-3, R.  Beccera’s AVG is holding at .333.
Vicente Lupo: 1-4, RBI.  The highly regarded Lupo is only hitting .167 with the GCL Mets.

DSL Mets1 (12-10) again edge DSL Cardinals (11-11) 2-1.
Juan Marte: (W, 2-0) (5.0 IP, R, 6 H, 1 BB, 2 K) pitches well, and Jose Mendez: (S, 1) (2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 BB, K) finishes solid.
Miguel Leal: 2-3, RBI.

DSL Mets2 (15-9) edge DSL Rockies (14-10) 2-1.
Darwin Ramos: (4.0 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 4 K) pitches well enough, but not long enough to earn a win.
Merandy Gonzales: (W, 1-0) (3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 BB, 3 K) pitches as well, and even fewer innings, but as a reliever, was able to earn the win.
Marcos Gonzalez: (S, 3) pitched a perfect 9th inning.
Alfredo Reyes: 1-3, 2B, BB, RBI.
Santo Marte: 2-3, R.
