MMLR Player of the Day: Binghamton RHSP Tyler Pill



Sacramento (28-20) trips Las Vegas (32-16) 6-5.

Logan Verrett: 6.0 IP, 4 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 0 BB, 0 K.
Zack Thornton: 1.1 IP, R, 0 H,BB.
Buddy Carlyle: 1.2 IP, R, 2 H, (HR) 0 BB, 4 K

Matt den Dekker: 2-4, 3B, RBI, R.
Josh Satin: 2-3, HR, 2 RBI, R.

 

Binghamton (25-21) edges New Britain (20-25) 3-2.

Tyler Pill gets it right: 6.0 IP, R, 6 H, 0 BB, 5 K.

St. Lucie (29-19) clips Clearwater (9-36) 6-2.

Matt Koch (W, 6-0) has a fine outing: 6.0 IP, 2 R, 6 H, BB, K.
Seth Lugo: (S, 3) 3.0 IP, 0 R, H, 2 K.

The top of the lineup does it again.
Playing SS and batting leadoff, Dilson Herrera (2-3, BB, 2 R) just keeps getting better. (avg. up to .333)
Brandon Nimmo: 2-4, 2B, RBI, 2 R. (.345)
T.J. Rivera: 1-4, 2B, RBI, R. (.372)

Lexington (22-25) nips Savannah (31-15) 6-5 in 13 innings .

Trailing 5-0 after 6 innings, the Sand Gnats come back with 5 runs in the 7th to tie the Legends. They then exchange zeros for 6 more innings, when the usually reliable Robert Coles gives up a 2 out run scoring single with a man on 2nd in the bottom of the 13th inning.

John Mincone: 2.2 IP, H, 5 K.
Tim Peterson: 2.0 perfect innings. (3 K)

Two close losses, 2 solid wins. Once again, lots of good stuff by the Mets' many minor league prospects - Nimmo, Herrera, and others. And seeing Clearwater with a 9-36 record makes you realize by comparison how special this minor league season is so far for these 4 teams that are roughly 50 games over .500 combined.
