I might as well put this here:

1) I give Almora a start in Chicago. I hope that's the plan. Maybe Game 2 since we just had an off day. Man should start a game against his old team. And it would be nice to see some more of him, depending.

2) I'd like to see Dom get some time at 1B. Pete doesn't have to be an every-everyday guy. A little rest, a little reflection, can be good. That's my take on everyone not named Lindor.

3) There's talk about 3B and some worries. My feeling is that the players will reveal the answers over time. I'm very comfortable with Davis and Guillorme options. I don't believe Villor can handle the position.

4) Just some numbers: Villor has had 23 PA, K'd 9 times, walked 0, and has a slash line of .261/.261/.478. Guillorme has 15 PA, 0 K's, 4 walks, with a slash line of .364/.533/.364.

5) Part of the reason why I hated the Villar signing was that he could only play if he takes time away from better players -- and because he's a bad defensive player (his "misplay" kind of killed Lucchesi in the first inning there, and that was the game). THAT SAID, I did come up with a theory on why I might have been wrong on him -- or, at least, why it might turn out better than expected: Villar has ben on a lot of bad teams, got into a selfish mindset, no baseball smarts. Here he joins a quality team, with a rock solid clubhouse that wants to win. Men on a mission. And even better, Villar now has to fight for playing time. Pressure to produce. It might be the perfect situation for him this season. And he might be very useful. Certainly brings a different flavor to the team.

But I'd rather see Guillorme.

6) Bullpens look better the less you see them. They are more rested and, over time, less familiar to opposing teams. Starters consistently give the Mets 6-7 IP will be huge.

7) I remembered that we still don't have Lugo back.

8) Or Carrasco.

9) Ultimately with the pen: If Diaz is great, it will hold together.
