First baseman, Jayce Boyd continues to pound out those hits, going 3-5 with a double, 1 RBI and 1 R. His .545 AVG and .643 OBP and are tops in the Sally League, while his 1.370 OPS is second.
Kevin Plawicki DH’d tonight, going 2-4 with a 2B, 2 RBI and 1 R.
Brandon Nimmo, despite going 0-3 managed to get on base twice on a BB and a HBP, and scored both times. His 8 runs scored now leads the league. Both Plawecki and Nimmo are hitting over .400 for the young season.
Luis Cessa pitched a strong 6.2 innings – 2 R, 1 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 5 K.
Julian Hilario got a 2 inning save, giving up 1 H, 1 BB and 1 K with no runs scored.
St. Lucie blanks Palm Beach 4-0
Luis Mateo (1-0) strikes out 9 in 6.2 innings, 4 H and 2 BB.
T.J. Chism gets the 4 out save, striking out 2.
T.J. Rivera, Cam Maron and Matt Reynolds go 1-4, with all three still hitting over .300
Aderlin Rodriguez and Dustin Lawley both go 2-4, but are still hitting under the Mendoza line.
To top things off, St. Lucie pulled off a triple play, Reynolds-Rivera-Bonfe.
