Rome (19-13) edges Savannah (20-12) 3-2.
Starter Rainy Lara pitched his usual solid game: 7.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 8 K. Lara’s ERA is now 1.42, his WHIP 0.89, in six outings this season.
Reliever Beck Wheeler usually extremely reliable thus far this season (ERA: 1.23) let in the winning run on consecutive singles, with a stolen base sandwiched in, all with 2 out in the 8th. He then got the next four outs.
Not much offense to tell of.
Palm Beach (15-20) tops St Lucie (22-12) 7-3
Angel Cuan pitched decently (6.0 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 6 H, (HR) 0 BB,0 K) but got a no decision when the bull pen couldn’t hold the Cardinals. Estarlin Morel got a blown save when the 1 hit he gave up in his 1 inning allowed an inherited runner to score. Randy Fontanez (L, 3-1) then took the loss allowing 3 ER on 4 H in his 1 inning. Not to be outdone, Wanel Mesa gave up a run on 2 hits in his inning.
The lone hitting standout - Dustin Lawley: 3-4, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R.

Binghamton starter Eric Goeddel: (W, 3-2) 5.0 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 6 K.
Adam Kolarek and Jack Leathersich pitched the last 1.2 innings, getting all 5 outs via strikeout. Kolarek was perfect in his inning, but Leather gave up a hit and a walk in his 0.2.
