METS FALL TO CARDINALS 7-3
PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA. — Dustin Lawley went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs, but the Mets had their six-game win streak snapped as they fell 7-3 to the Palm Beach Cardinals on Friday at Tradition Field.
Lawley had three of the five hits for the Mets, including a two-out, go-ahead two-run home run in the sixth.
The Cardinals tied the score in the seventh on an RBI double by Ronny Gil off of Mets reliever Estarlin Morel.
Jonathan Rodriguez had a go-ahead RBI double in a three-run eighth inning for the Cardinals off of Randy Fontanez.
Wanel Mesa allowed a solo home run to Stephen Piscotty in the ninth.
Angel Cuan allowed three runs and six hits over six innings.
The Mets will host the Palm Beach Cardinals in the series finale on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Jennry Mejia will make the start for the Mets.
