Considering I don't get SNY on my network out here, I am likely making some foolish suggestions. I would strive to get fans involved more in the platform with streaming appearances and open forum talk on the air and not just on the internet.
Is it me or do they seem to show the same Mets classic games over and over? I would expand the Mets classic library to show more games from the 60's and 70's especially the 1973 September games and post season.
Also it's ok if they show games the Mets lost like the 73 WS or the 73 playoff game where Rusty crashed into the wall to make the catch.
Plus, why do they have press conferences broadcast on twitter?
Why can't they broadcast more minor league games? Even if it is taped delayed.
Finally, figure out a way to allow Mets fans in other areas to subscribe.
I would give the Mets a fair market contract that is equal to what other teams are getting from their yearly Cable contracts. It feels like we are struggling to put a team together in the biggest market in the world the past few years. I feel the Wilpon’s might say the Mets are losing money but what’s the valuation of SNY network are they losing money as well? I doubt it. If not it has to do with not giving the Mets baseball team their fair share of tv revenue money that other teams are getting from outside networks.
It just seems about 15 years ago when we were getting Cablevision money we were able to spend with the big boys and now with other revenue streams (internet and mlb tv rights deals) at their disposal we are at mid market team spending level.
I sure would like to see some of the earlier games as well. Maybe SNY doesn't own the rights because they weren't around back then??
Playoff/World Series games I would say are owned by MLB, so I doubt SNY would have rights.
I was watching the Beltran press conference on my wife's Facebook page. Someone asked the question as to why it wasn't on SNY channel on TV. Someone from SNY responded that they did not have the rights to show it on TV.
So, really, all this comes down to what SNY has the rights to show.
As far a what Zozo said, there's a reason that the Wilpons are selling the Mets WITHOUT SNY in the deal. That is the cash cow that is making up for a lot of the losses. It is very profitable.
How about show more of our minor league teams games either at night when the meta as off or play a day game or they can choose the “best” affiliate game from the night before and show it during the day so we can DVR it is interested.

That's a great idea Reese.

Used to get it on my local cable channel.
Then they replaced it with a horse racing channel.
Said the viewership level was too low to continue it.
