3. CHASE DELAUTER, OF

JAMES MADISON (2022): ORLEANS FIREBIRDS

Hit Power Arm Field Run FV

30/55 40/60 60/60 50/55 45/40 6

Elite plate discipline and looking to elevate and do damage. Does not chase pitches out of the zone. Plus in-game power to all fields. Plus arm from OF due to his time spent on the mound at James Madison. Above average defender from the OF. Athletic, and moves well given his size in CF. Long-term profiles as a corner OF.

2021 James Madison stat line -

26-G, 101-AB, .386/.508/.723/1.231, only 14-K, 6-HR

 Mack's spin -

Solid outfielder both with a bat and glove.

Currently, my  19th outfielder.

8-30-21 - 2021 USA Baseball College National Team Top MLB Draft Prospects -

 1. Brooks Lee, SS, Cal Poly

After missing nearly all of the shortened 2020 season due to injury, Lee, the son of Cal Poly coach Larry Lee, burst onto the scene in 2021 by hitting .342/.384/.626 with 27 doubles and 10 home runs, two years after passing on potentially being a first-round pick to attend college.

A switch-hitter, Lee has always been lauded for his skills as a pure hitter and that continued this summer, when he hit .306 during the intrasquad slate and finished the summer by going 3-for-4 in the final game against the Olympic team. His physicality has also raised eyebrows and there’s confidence that he will hit for power at the next level from both sides of the plate. Defensively, he may not stick at shortstop, but his plus hands and arm should make him a fit at third base.

Mack's spin -

Still my #2 SS behind Termerr Johnson.

8-29-21 - Matt Collier @reillocity

CCBL FaBIO Evolutions: Jonathan Cannon, Georgia

Had preseason 1st-round buzz but got off to a late start & mostly came up shorter at K & OHB after. Primary fastball is tough to barrel & drive per all 3 table rows, but K Rating fell over larger '21 BF/G totals (esp. in summer).

2021 stat line - 13-G, 12-starts, 4-2, 3.98, 63.1-IP,  57-K, 13-BB

Mack's spin -

I liked Cannon a lot going into the 2021 season, but he only had a so-so season. He needs to show me more in 2022.

My 12th RHP.

8-25-21 - Prospects Live - Top Canadian Prospects -

 ELI SAUL

 Sacramento State, LHP

Standing 6-foot-5, Saul definitely looks every bit the part of stud starting pitcher for the Hornets. His fastball is now up to 95 and his slider is currently sits 81-84 with swing-and-miss characteristics. The previously drafted Saul (2019, 29th round, Rangers) still needs more refinement after competing in the Cape this summer, but the upside here is really exciting. He will have the chance to be a weekend starter when back on campus. With a tall, lanky frame, there is plenty of physical projection remaining for Saul.

Mack's spin -

First ink on Saul.

 8-24-21 - Prospects Live - top Cape players -

 WEST SS

 Ryan Ritter (Kentucky)

Scouts were waiting to see Ryan Ritter put it all together, and in the last three weeks of the Cape season they were rewarded for their patience. Ritter had shown flashes of his offensive ability in games, but started to get more consistent with the barrel and the slugging percentage ticked up as well. Ritter finished extremely strong, slashing .330/.431/.429 this summer with a homer for good measure. Building on this momentum will be key for Ritter, as an improved junior year at Kentucky could vault him into first round discussions as a projectable shortstop with defensive and offensive impact ability.

Mack's spin -

Enters my board as my 17th SS.
