Gwinnett 9, Buffalo 1

In their second ever game at Coca-Cola Field, the Gwinnett Braves made sure the Bisons couldn't come up with any more late-inning magic.

The Braves got a huge game from their big clean-up hitter Barbaro Cannizero in a 9-1 victory over the Bisons. Gwinnett's first baseman drove in six runs, including two on a booming home run to left field, to stop the Herd's recent two-game winning streak.

Cannizero drove in runs in three of his first four at-bats on Wednesday night. His sacrifice fly in the first inning drove home Gregor Blanco for the game's first run. Two innings later, Cannizero drove in Blanco and himself with a two-run homer to deep left field off Herd starter Brandon Knight.

After singling in the fifth inning, Cannizero put a 5-1 game out of reach in the sixth with a three-run double to deep right-centerfield. The Braves' slugger finished the game 3-4 with six RBI. He was a triple away from the cycle.

The Bisons scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Mike Lamb led off the frame with a double and came across on a grounder off the bat Robinson Cancel.

The series is now even at a game a piece with Game 3 on Thursday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. from Coca-Cola Field.
