Roster Moves: Kiger to AAA

Bisons Add INF Mark Kiger to Roster

The Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, today announced that INF Mark Kiger has been promoted to the team from the Binghamton Mets (AA).
To make roster room, OF Jason Cooper has been transferred to Brooklyn (A).
Kiger, 28, has played 23 games with the B-Mets, hitting .246 (16-65) with four doubles, one home run and five RBI. He has made seven starts at first base, three at second base, three at third base and eight at designated hitter. So far this season, Kiger has hit .320 (8-25) with a home run and three RBI off left-handed pitching.
Kiger, who played for the Seattle Mariners’ West Tennessee (AA) last season, spent time in the Mets organization system in 2007. That year, he hit .321 (122-391) with 27 doubles, 10 home runs, 50RBI and 16 stolen bases with Binghamton (AA).
