New Hampshire 4, B-Mets 3

For the second straight day, walks played a factor in deciding the game between New Hampshire and Binghamton. The Fisher Cats used a bases-loaded wild pitch in the seventh inning after Edgar Alfonzo walked two men in the inning to take the lead 4-3, which they would not relinquish to beat the B-Mets.

New Hampshire (14-9) was first to strike the scoreboard Sunday afternoon plating a run on an RBI single to left field from Brian Dopirak off of B-Met starter Dylan Owen making it 1-0. Dopirak brought in David Cooper who had doubled the at-bat before the double the RBI base knock.

The Fisher Cats jumped back on the board with two runs in the second thanks to RBI singles from Luis Sanchez and Adam Calderone to lead 2-0.

Binghamton (11-10) finally cracked the run column in the fourth. After Josh Petersen doubled to left field, Shawn Bowman belted a two-out homer over the left field wall to cut the margin to one.

However, the Fisher Cats answered quickly plating the winning run in the seventh when Sean Shoffit came home to score on a wild pitch from Alfonzo to make the lead 4-2.

The B-Mets got within a run in the seventh when Rommie Lewis issued two walks to Ruben Tejada and Carl Loadenthal to open the inning. Bubbie Buzachero came on in relief of Lewis after the walks. After Jonathan Malo sacrificed the runners up, Josh Thole grounded out to the right side to drive a run in from third making it 4-3.

Leon Boyd shut the door on Binghamton in the ninth throwing a scoreless frame to notch his fifth save in five chances, making a winner out of Randy Boone. Boone threw five innings giving up two runs for his third win.

Owen took the loss giving up three runs in five innings to fall to 0-2.
