Cutnpaste: - Jordany Valdespin, Maikel Cleto, Yusmeiro Petit, Sandy on Ollie, and Hubie Brooks

Michael G,. Baron
 Jordany Valdespin:

Valdespin then represented the club in the Arizona Fall League, where he hit .355 in 19 games. He had a home run and drove in 11 runs while not getting caught stealing in seven tries. Now, Valdespin recently has been cleared by the Mets to begin play in the Dominican winter league with the Licey Tigers. He had suffered forearm strain on a checked swing during the AFL’s Rising Stars All-Star game in early November. - espn

Maikel Cleto:
The St. Louis Cardinals have traded infielder Brendan Ryan to the Seattle Mariners for hard-throwing right-hander Maikel Cleto. Cleto pitched for the GCL Mets in 2007, and Savannah and St. Lucie in 2008. Last year, at A+, he went 4-9, 6.16, 1.65, in 23-G, 21-starts.

Yusmeiro Petit:

Margarita Bravos (26-21) 5-3 - Yusmeiro Petit has a 2-game winning streak his last two starts to improve his record to 4-1. He gave up 4 runs in 14 plus innings to keep his ERA at a quaint 2.09 - MWOB

Mack Ade
 Sandy on Ollie:
New Mets GM Sandy Alderson might not get to see Oliver Perez pitch until spring training -- which could be good news for the loopy lefty, who continues to struggle for his Mexican League team this winter. Alderson had hoped to see most of the Mets who are playing Winter League baseball, as he continues to address the Mets' 2011 roster, but admits that might not be possible. - NYPost

Hubie Brooks:

Hubie was the 3rd player selected in the June 1978 draft for the Mets and made the big league club in 1980. In 1981 he hit .307 with 4 homers and finished 3rd in the Rookie of the Year balloting behind Tim Raines and some guy named Fernando Valenzuela. In 1984 he had his best year with the Mets when he hit 283 with 16 homers and 73 rbi’s. He was of course over shadowed by Darryl Strawberry but he was a consistent 3rd baseman with a great arm. - longislandmetfan
