Cutnpaste: - Dirty on Paulino, Lasto Brawl, 2011 DPG, Karim Garcia, and Mets For Me on Conference Call

Dirty on Paulino:

His struggles will only be amplified if his walk rate continues its precipitous fall. Plainly, walking 4% of the time just doesn’t cut it. To see what’s happened to Paulino’s plate discipline, we can look at his O-swing% (percent of pitches swung at outside the strike zone), Z-swing% (percent of pitches swung at inside the strike zone, and his Zone% (percent of pitches faced inside the strike zone). - realdirtymets

Lasto Brawl:

Lastings Milledge was involved in an on-field fight this weekend in the Venezuelan Winter League. Probably not a good move by the free agent outfielder, who already carries some baggage as a potential clubhouse cancer. According to ESPN New York's Adam Rubin, Milledge doubled in the fourth inning then mimicked a celebratory grenade throw into his team's dugout. He was plunked in the seventh inning, but stole second immediately and set off a benches-clearing brawl. - .rotoworld.

2011 DPG:

We're excited to announce the details of our second annual Digital Prospect Guide. It's going to blow you away. If you're already ready to order, you can do so through the PayPal cart below: "If you’re interested in tracking prospects around baseball, be sure to check out the Digital Prospect Guide. It's outstanding." - Matt Cerrone of MetsBlog.com - projectprospect.

Karim Garcia:

Karim Garcia is a free agent. He has played the last couple years in the KBO, but he didn’t like how he was treated there last year and he may choose to play in the Mexican League. Or if a major league team should show some interest take note - Garcia is smoking hot. Sunday he drove in nine runs by blasting three homeruns in his first three at bats to lead Hermosillo to a 12-8 win over Navojoa. His 2-run homer in the first inning started the scoring off. He then crushed a grand slam in the second frame to give Hermosillo an 8-2 lead. On his third at bat in the fourth inning he crushed a 3-run homer to make it 11-4. He grounded out in the sixth and then struck out in the eighth to be denied a four homerun game. - myworldofbaseball.

Mets For Me on Conference Call:

I may now be the only one even mildly concerned with the potential consequences for independently-minded "coverage" of the Mets in light of the Wilpon's wooing. Not that there are really any "independently" minded Mets commentators left out there; if we wanted that service, we'd still have sportswriters at our major newspapers (I keed)! - itsmetsforme.
