Mack Draft: - Conlon Palo, Alex Meyer, Jackie Bradley, Jr, Trevor Bauer, and Julius Gaines

Two former Middle Tennessee State baseball players have been charged with rape by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, according to an incident report on file with the sheriff’s office. The two players who were arrested and charged are Conlon Palo and Damian Seguen. Middle Tennessee State Athletic Director Chris Massaro and head coach Steve Peterson kicked both players off the baseball team after the arrests.- http://www.collegebaseballdaily.com/2011/01/16/two-middle-tennessee-state-players-facing-rape-charges

Alex Meyer - Meyer was thought to be a likely late first-round pick coming out of his senior year in high school. Some inconsistency and signability questions led to him falling to the 20th round of the 2008 draft, where the Red Sox still offered him early round money before he finally decided to take his talents to Kentucky. He has a super-tall build, similar to Armstrong, wth lean, tapered proportions. Because of his size, he still has some problems repeating his mechanics, but his stuff is undeniable. He easily throws in the 93-96 range with the ability to touch a few ticks higher than that, particularly in the early innings. His slider is also a dominant pitch, arguably the best he throws, especially when thrown in the mid-80s. - http://www.5tooltalk.com/2011-feature-youtubeclips.html

Jackie Bradley, Jr. - South Carolina - Bradley has a flair for the dramatic, coming up with big hits and/or key defensive gems when most needed, efforts that were epitomized by him winning MVP honors at the College World Series. A left-handed hitter, he could excel at the top of a lineup with the ability to hit for average, some power while showing a good eye at the plate. He is also a potential Gold Glove candidate in centerfield, with good speed, instincts and a strong throwing arm. – http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=5155

Trevor Bauer, UCLA - Cole may have the most star power on the UCLA pitching staff, but it’s tough to beat Bauer’s attitude and toughness. The talented right-handed pitcher had a fantastic sophomore campaign for the Bruins, going 12-3 with a 3.02 ERA in 131 1/3 innings. He also struck out 165 and walked 41 and limited teams to a .244 average. Like Cole, Bauer is expected to be one of the first pitchers taken in the MLB draft. Bauer and Cole give UCLA the nation’s best one-two punch on the weekend. http://www.tossitaround.com/baseball-news/college/14402.html
