Dan Valis: Terry Collins on Changing the Culture and what he's learned

Kevin Kernan had a column in the New York Post about a recent interview with the 61 year old Collins, and these are some of the important things I took from the interview.

First is the clubhouse camaraderie, which is widely known as a former weakness of Collins during his days with the Angels and Astros. Collins talks about having bowling nights together so the team can build relationships with one another that go beyond the diamond. Terry has expressed regret over the way he handled his former clubhouses. He feels strongly that he knows what he did wrong and how to correct it.

He talks about in the importance of having a set lineup, for the rest of the story. Click here.

Collins should at least bring an A-personality rah-rah attitude into the dugout, in a year the team really needs it.

Welcome aboard.

Great first post, Dan! Welcome to the blog, and I look forward to reading you both here and via your blog!!
Collins is a breath of fresh air in that at least it LOOKS like the team will FINALLY play smarter baseball, not give away at-bats and not carry anyone on the roster who didn't earn it! That alone is very worthwhile!!
I hope Terry surprises his many critics and makes a very positive mark on this team!!
