Mack Draft: - Jose Fernandez, Anthony Rendon, Gerrit Cole , Ryan Harris , and Taylor Jungmann

Alonso senior pitcher Jose Fernandez, a Cuban defector who was ruled ineligible because he had exhausted his four years of high school eligibility, has been officially reinstated by the Florida High School Athletic Association, Alonso baseball coach Landy Faedo confirmed Monday. Fernandez, who helped the Ravens to the Class 6A state championship as a sophomore, was ruled ineligible in October because 2010-'11 would be his fifth year since he entered the ninth grade in Cuba in 2006. - http://www.tampabay.com/hometeam/blog/alonso-ace-jose-fernandez-reinstated-fhsaa/8054

Anthony Rendon (Rice Univ.) is not only the easy choice for top third baseman in the 2011 draft class, he is far and away the top draft eligible position player and arguably the top top player overall. He is a rare potential five-tool third baseman, showing an incredible offensive skill set highlighted by huge power and an ability to let the ball travel that is unmatched at the amateur ranks. He boasts a discerning eye and ability to square the ball in all quadrants. A plus defender, he also shows a strong arm and has been clocked by DSS evaluators as low as 4.2 seconds to first base, out of the box - http://diamondscapescouting.com/rankings_2011_preseason_thirdbase.html

Gerrit Cole – UCLA - How many starting pitchers consistently throw 98? Add Cole to the short list, with an incredible arm and the ability to maintain that heat deep into game, sitting in the 94-97 range with a pretty good slider as well. He has starred for Team USA each of the last two summers, and went 11-4 a season ago for the Bruins, serving as the team ace while leading UCLA to the finals in the College World Series against eventual champion South Carolina. - http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=5155

http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=5164  - - The recently completed Perfect Game World Showcase in Fort Myers featured one of the most talented groups of players ever to play in this long running event, which dates back to 1997 and was the original Perfect Game showcase. Players are 2011 prospects: - 7. OF/RHP Ryan Harris (Jupiter, FL): Harris hasn’t pitched at a PG event since 2009 (when he threw 93 mph) but his athletic tools and hitting ability make him an upper round prospect as an outfielder as well.

Taylor Jungmann, Texas - The Longhorns have national title aspirations this season with pitchers Cole Green and Jungmann leading the way. Jungmann has had a fruitful career with the ‘Horns and is expected to be one of the first pitchers taken in the MLB draft. Jungmann’s junior campaign was especially impressive, where he went 8-3 with a 2.03 ERA in 120 innings. He also struck out 129 and walked 41 and limited teams to a .209 average. Jungmann also had a 2.00 ERA as a freshman two seasons ago. Expect another great campaign from the righty. http://www.tossitaround.com/baseball-news/college/14402.html
