I May Be Wrong, But…

1. Buffalo pitcher Mike O’Connor has cleared waivers and has now become a minor league free agent. Mike was another of those Montreal Expo connections that managed to get in nine appearances this year for the Mets: 0-1, 2.70, 1.20, 8-K, 6.2-IP. For some reason that earned him a demotion back to Buffalo, where he faltered: 5-5, 5.31, 1.47, 57.2-IP, 61-K. I thought he would have fit in well in the Queens pen, but we wish him well in his pursuit of a team that will let him return to the majors.

2. Why did I not find it a surprise that the Mets ownership and media department said that the players would be fined if they wore NYPD or FDNY hats on 9-11. League sleague… any decent NY team would pay the fines for the players. You can bring in new players and even hire a new General Manager, but as long as the team and it’s dinosaur organization keeps coming up with this shit, they will never be the top team in New York

4. I can’t seem to understand the reason why Jose Reyes would tell the world that his hammy still hurts and he doesn’t want to run full speed and blow it out. His agent must be having a cow right now. Thi is probably good news for the Mets and may chase away anyone that would have offered more than a four year deal. We’ll see.

5. I think 2013 would be a great time to go out and buy an outfielder. Here’s some that will be available:
