Keith Law - King has been a consistent offensive performer in college, playing in one of the country's best baseball conferences, although he doesn't have any plus tools and has a low long-term ceiling as a pro prospect. He loads early but pauses long enough that he's moving his hands forward from a stationary position, and he has minimal weight transfer over his front side. It's a rotational swing, though he still needs to generate power from his upper half because of the short stride and lack of weight transfer, smoother with better follow-through left-handed than right-handed. He's an average or slightly below-average runner, almost certain to end up in left field where the offensive threshold to be a regular is higher than in center, and the most likely outcome is that he ends up a little below that mark.
Jonathan Mayo - King is a solid college performer with good tools across the board. His best tool is his bat, and he has the chance to hit for both average and power. He has tremendous bat speed with a short stroke from both sides of the plate and the ball carries off his bat. He's a solid average runner who might be better suited for a corner outfield spot and that could mean left given that his arm is his weakest tool. It's his bat, though, that will get him drafted, and he might have enough to be taken off the board in the first few rounds.

Frankie Piliere: There's my guy Jared King. Stocky guy, compact swing, pretty good athlete. Consistent bat from both sides. I would have taken him about two rounds ago. Just a really good bet as a switch hit bat - very consistent.
A native of Dublin, Ohio, King enters the Corvallis Super Regional with a .327 batting average, 15 doubles, two triples, six home runs and 51 RBI. Named the Big 12 Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year, King ranks in the top 10 of the conference in eight offense categories, including a second-place mark in RBI. King was also a First Team All-Big 12 selection and a member of the NCAA Manhattan All-Regional team. King holds a career batting average of .339 with 42 doubles, eight triples, 21 home runs and 138 RBI. He ranks 10th in school history with 71 career extra-base hits and is one home run shy of entering the school’s career top 10.
