Mets Minor League Report – June 10

As of this writing, Las Vegas (33-28) trails Tacoma (38-26) 10-7 after 8 innings.

Tacoma scored early and often off Chris Schwinden: 5.0 IP, 6 R, 5 ER, 8 H, 3 BB, 2 K. Needless to say, Schwinden is on the short end as of now.

Greg Peavy: (2.0 IP, 3 R, 2 H, (HR) BB, K, and Armando Rodriguez: (1.0 IP, R, 2 H, BB) did not fare much better.

Thus far offensively:

Andrew Brown: 2-3, 2HR, 3B. 4 RBI, 3 R.  Now hitting .378, in this writer’s opinion, Brown should have gotten the call to Queens rather than Collin Cowgill.

Wilmer Flores: 2-4, HR, RBI, R.   Playing 1B tonight, it may not be long before Flores is playing on the sod of Citifield.

Binghamton (38-25) not scheduled.

St Lucie (32-29) swamps Clearwater (33-29) 9-4.

Starter Noah Syndergaard, (W, 3-3) 6.0 IP, pitched well early, but faltered late, to allow 4 R on 6 H, (2 HR) BB, 5 K.

Three St. Lucie relievers, Jim Fuller, (0 H, 2 BB, K) Randy Fontanez, (0 H, 0 BB, K) and T.J. Chism, (2 H, BB, K) each pitched a scoreless inning, holding the Threshers in check the rest of the way.

Charley Thurber: 2-4, BB, RBI, R.

T.J. Rivera: 2-3, 3B, 2 BB, 2 RBI, 2 R.

Aderlin Rodriguez: 2-4, BB, RBI, 2 R.

Albert Cordero: 2-5, RBI, R.

Gilbert Gomez: 2-4, 2 RBI.

Ashville (33-28) @ Savannah (37-25) postponed (rain).

DSL Mets1 (4-4) shut out DSL Pirates (3-5) 2-0.

Adrian Almeida started and went 3.0 innings: 0 R, 3 H, BB, 4 K.

He was followed by Enmanual Berihuete: 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, BB, K.

Juan Marte (W, 1-0) allowed 0 R on 1 H and 2 BB with 4 K in 4.2 IP.

When Marte walked 2 consecutive batters with 2 out in the 9^th, Audry German (S, 2) was called upon to get the final out. German gave up a single to load the bases, and then struck out the final batter of the game.

Miguel Leal: 3-4, 2B.

Johanny Sierra: 2-4, RBI, R.

John Mora: 1-3, BB, R.

DSL Mets2 (5-3) blank DSL Phillies (3-5) 4-0.
