Tom Brennan - SO HOW DID OUR METS' PITCHERS DO?

Image result for image of spring break

Training wheels were removed from the spring training bicycle and the rider fell flat.

In other words, spring training is cancelled and the season is on hold. We all know why. We all need to hibernate.

Sadly, this spring, pre-hibernation, most of the pitchers were excellent, as Macks' Mets own Reese Kaplan wrote about yesterday.

Here's my take...

Heck, let's start with Mr. Cy Young himself.

Jake deGrom had 7 official innings, allowing 1 run for a 1.29 ERA.

Pretty great, right?  Good enough for bragging rights?

Nah, not in 2020...THIRTEEN GUYS had better ERAs.

Gonsalves went 5 innings, ERA 0.00.

Lockett went 4.2 innings, ERA 0.00.

Corey Oswalt and Erasmo Ramirez went 8 innings with one earned run, each sporting a 1.13 ERA.

In fact, # 21 on the Mets' ERA hit parade was Mr. Brad Brach, with a 1.93 ERA.

And 3 more Mets dudes had ERAs below 2.75.

Heck, there were THIRTY GUYS with ERAs of 4.50 or less!!

Overall team ERA?

3.24, good for 3rd and barely behind # 1 Houston (3.16),

Crazy, sick, awesome pitching...and the stinking season goes into quarantine.

Covid-19 even ruined Jake's chances of Winning-20.

Hurry back boys, we miss ya.

I think it's the balsa wood bats that ruin Cy deGrom's chances of winning 20.

I wonder if they'll adjust over/under bets if they don't play 162.
