Hey, if they can do it, so can I. And why not pay homage to the best Mets
Manager, minors or majors, that I have ever seen since Gil Hodges passed away: Edgardo
Alfonzo.
The Answer is Edgardo
Alfonzo (Sung to the tune of Bob Dylan’s “Blowing in the
Wind”)
How many time must the Mets lose a game, because of poor
fundamentals?
How many time must the ball not be played, because of poor
defense?
How many times will runners not steal, though they most
certainly should?
The answer my friends is Edgardo
Alfonzo. The answer is Edgardo
Alfonzo.
How many time will a Mets runner not run, when he hits a
popup?
How many times will a Mets not run hard, and get thrown out
at first?
How many times will a Met not bunt, because he never before has?
The answer my friends is Edgardo
Alfonzo. The answer is Edgardo
Alfonzo.
How many Mets managers won a championship, emphasizing speed
and defense?
How many Mets managed teams, ever stole 5 bases in the first?
How many Mets managers won a championship, without top prospects?
How many Mets
managers who won a championship in 2019, is not managing today?
How many times
must this man be passed over, for manager jobs in the chain?
How many posts
must a blogger blog, until Fonzie gets a job (as manager in the Mets system)?
When the answer is clear, Edgardo Alfonzo. The answer is Edgardo Alfonzo.

Very nice.
Makes me think of the old Beatles song:
Eduardi, Eduardo, life goes, on, Bro'
Alfonso, the life goes on.
May life go on for all of us.
The Alfonso dismissal was confounding on several fronts. First, he was a winner. Second, he was a hugely popular player. Third, he had great name recognition. They instead went for cheater Carlos Beltran with no experience whatsoever, then replaced him with the no-name-recognition Luis Rojas. This is not a slap at Rojas. It is a slap at the Mets organization for what they did to Fonzie.
And Fonzie is fearless too, just ask Richie Cunningham
It certainly was a jump the shark tank moment when they let Fonzie go.
