To Thine Eyes Be True

Remember:

This is only the very earliest moments of the 2021 MLB season. It means that it is all about getting into optimal game time conditioning. The upper US states weather temperatures do not always make for this ideal environment.

Pitchers "airing it out" comes to mind.

If you watch pitchers here in the past airing it out, some got hurt in so doing. Seth Lugo comes to mind. So does Noah Synergaard. I could tell that both were somewhat pressing with their fastball pitches.

Yes, it's great to do so later and in the heat of the summer months, but only after really completed arm conditioning first. Just not quite yet. The pitchers really all need to have thrown enough innings first, in order to "air it out" in game situations. Maybe a good thought to factor.

The 2021 NY Mets

Even down Noah Syndergaard and Carlos Carrasco, this 2021 NY Mets team has everything in every category covered ion order to win their division.

Looking at the Phillies competitively.

Right now, they have two really good starters in Nola and Wheeler. The owner of the Phillies was recently quoted as saying, "I he would not trade Zach Wheeler for Ruth." He is also looking in to extended Zach's contract, soon.

But for Philly, that is all they really have in their rotation, two starters at the top of their rotation. Very good ones. But my point here is, despite a very good hitting team we just saw in Philadelphia, the NY Mets have the better overall team on offense and pitching, even down Noah and Carlos.

The 2021 NY Mets team is this good people.

I agree on the high quality of this 2021 Mets team. Pen is of some concern, and it would have been nice if Betances did not pull a Lowrie. But, sometimes, a replacement emerges that could cause the Mets to cut their losses with Dellin. He has crumbled.

And the Phillies will come back to earth - remember Callo-far-far-away started out his first season 11-1, then crash.
