We are starting a new weekly draft feature, called “Bullet Points”.
It will highlight five players that are beginning to make their mark in this game coming up to the draft in July.
This week, we start off with:
Jonathan Fincher - Louisiana Tech
16th ranked (as of 4-11) Louisiana Tech is heading to the final 64 and is lead by their 6-3, redshirt junior lefty, Jonathan Fincher.
He was pretty much unhittable this fast Friday, throwing a four hit shutout against Rice, and going 6-0 for the season.
In eight starts this season, Fincher’s stat ine is: 6-0, 1.35, 0.79, 53.1-IP, 47-K
I do not currently have him in my top 100 picks, nor have I seen anyone write anything about this guy.
Major helium alert.
Chase Silseth - Arizona
The 6-0 righty has been making a name for himself this year, pitching for Arizona.
This past Friday (4-9) he went: 6.1-IP, no runs, 6-K.
His seasonal record is now 6-0 and he breafly lowered the 4.37- ERA he had going into this game.
We will keep an eye on Silseth going forward.
Justin Guerrera
Who is Justin Guerrera?
Well, the 5-9 junior, out of the Fairfield Stags (as of 4-11: 14-0), is currently one of the top hitters in college baseball.
His current stat line as of 4-11) is 14-G, 51-AB, .471/.550/1.059, with 8-HRs.
(by the way… Fairfield is killing it. They are 14-0, their opponent’s combined ERA is 8.69, and the Stags’ 1-2-3 starters have ERAs of 0.49, .084, 0.90)
Niko Kavadas
We all have been following the journey of power slugger, 1B Wes Clarke, out of South Carolina, as he continues to lead the nation in home runs (15).
Well, Notre Dame has a senior who has 12 of his own.
6-1, 235 1B Niko Kavadas has a current (as of 4-11) stat line of: 20-G, 67-AB, .328/.473/.910, with 32-RBIs to go along with those 12 homers. He also has walked 21 times.
Yes… that’s 12 home runs in 67 at-bats.
Someone is going to get a real nice minimal bonus pick here.
Dominic Hamel
We have all heard of Kumar Rocker, Jack Leiter, and Gunnar Hoglund. They current are the three leaders in producing the most strikouts this season (73, 71, 70).
Know who’s fourth?
Dallas Baptist 6-2 junior RHP, Dominic Hamel, has 64 in 40.- 1-IP. His current seasonal stat line (as of 4-11) is: 7-starts, 5-1, 2.90, 1.02.
Currently, I only have him ranked as the 59th RHP in this draft.
Might wanna take a look see at dat.

Jonathan Fincher - Louisiana Tech - looks very good, but as always, less than a K per inning against college guys makes me a bit skeptical.
Chase Silseth - Arizona - his ERA seems high. Maybe he had one disastrous start.
Justin Guerrera - I don't know if he is in a lousy division, but thise are impressive numbers for the little guy. almost Guerrero-like.
Niko Kavadas - Queens has a big Greek fan base, they might like this slugger.
Dominic Hamel - love strikeouts, he might be worth considering.

I don't play favorites here. The purpose of this new weekly feature is to give all of you a slew of new names to remember so when they are called out on whatever draft day they are called out on, you will have some knowledge of that pick.
