Eickhoff was plagued by the HR in AAA this year (11 HR in 44 AAA innings). No surprise that he was touched for some here - but Schwarber again? No way he should be pitched to.
Eickhoff just got Schwarber out!
I think Eickhoff will need to go at least 5 no matter the score.
Per @AnthonyDiComo on the site's Twitter feed -
The Mets rank 30th in the Majors in runs, 30th in runs per game, 29th in slugging, and 26th in OPS.
'nuff said.
Another prodigious night at the plate for the Patsies….err, I mean Metsies
Just because you got him out last time...I would still not have picthed to Schwarber again. What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing and expecting different results?
Tom - need team speed. I would have kept Mason Williams over Almora simply based on his speed. Mason would be my leadoff hitter and everyday CF - even when Nimmo comes back.
I guess Eickhoff did what we could reasonably expect of him, he gave us innings and didn't blow the bullpen. This was a white flag game.
I agree Jeremy - he did what he needed to do. Mets needed to hit a journeyman like Espino but every pitcher they now face looks like Koufax. Crazy.
We need Lindor to come through in those spots. Another 0 for 4. Time to bench him.
Please tell me that Reid-Foley is not going to pitch to Schwarber here.
Reid-Foley gets him to pop out on a belt high fastball. Lucky.
Pete has been a different player on the road this year. 1 HR at home - 11 on the road.
Who needs speed! I love the long ball!
Nevermind...enough of these long balls.
