In a clear message of support for the German people,
President John F. Kennedy delivers his iconic "Ich bin ein
Berliner" (I am a Berliner) speech from the steps of the Rathaus

franchise mark, stays intact with a first-inning single. |
1983 |
Rusty Staub
ties the single-season record with his eighth consecutive pinch hit. 'Le
Grand Orange' equals the 1958 mark established by Dave Philley of the

and Orioles, finishing lower than third place on only three occasions. |

club-record-tying losing streak at 13 games, their longest loss streak
since 1944.
2009: Brett Gardner collects five hits, including a triple and a homer, as
the Yankees beat
the Mets, 9 -

Forget the 3 Tatis homers - MAKE SURE YOU SEE OHTANI'S GARGANTUAN BLAST.
What do the Mets pay Hugh Quattlebaum to do as the hitting coach? I'm curious as to what he does to prepare the hitters for games.
Bob W
Whatever Hugh is doing he is not working with players on hitting the curve ball. You would think at the very least, he'd have taking early batting practice to face one curve after another.
It seems Smith has a “big head” mentality about being in first place. The team is in first place in spite of their lack of fundamentals and execution, and being dead last in baseball in runs per game isn’t going to keep them there. It’s ironic that on the Mets the younger players are the “spokesman”.
Gus - fundamentals is not something this organization values...the last guy who did is now the team ambassador.
