Uriarte is hitting pretty well so far. Maybe he is coming around, finally.
It could be - like you said yesterday on your draft post about Nick Meyer - he has to just hit enough to justify carrying him as a defensive first catcher. The injuries these last few years hurt. We will see how it goes in 2022.
I’m wondering if Lagares can get a more batting practice “fastball” than that: high and over the middle, also not too fast please. LOL.
John, I can’t see a team carrying an empty bat all year just as a backup catcher. I don’t see anyone the Mets left unprotected that is worth the gamble, unless it’s a high octane pitcher that they could hide in the back of the pen.
Gus - Makes sense Gus. I think three catchers can work on a roster if one of the catchers is also one of your main pinch hitters. That way when used you still have a catching option once used.
