2011 DRAFT: - Nicky Delmonico, Brett Mooneyham, Aaron Brown, Preston Tucker... and Dante Flores

Nicky Delmonico:

8-29-10 from: - link  – How about Nicky Delmonico throwing guys out stealing (and stealing one himself)? And he’s definitely a kid who’s going to get stronger as he has a lot of room for muscle on his frame. The swing gets a little grooved at times, but his actions are good behind the plate.

 Brett Mooneyham:

8-27 from: - http://xmlbscout.angelfire.com/  - LHP Brett Mooneyham Stanford 6'4 1/2 220 - quality lefty which is going to be the theme for the 2011 MLB Draft as there is lots of pitching depth in the college ranks and especially with lefties, more so than in years past. Brett has the stuff to be a 2-3 man in a ML rotation with his 3/4 slot showing velocity of a fb that ranges 88-95, most are 89-91, will see a 95 when he rares back. Needs to keep fb down in zone and use corners and pitch in on RHH hands more, 2/6 breaking ball with depth and control, most out of k-zone but effective, gets hitters out front on occ with developing straight change which could be a plus pitch.

Aaron Brown:

8-12-10 from: - http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/high-school/events/under-armour-preseason-all-america-tournament/2010/2610524.html  - OF - Chatsworth (Calif.) HS Brown is a strong, physical player with legitimate lefthanded power generated from plus bat speed that can lead to towering home runs. He's a good fit at either corner outfield spot and has above-average arm strength, as evidenced by his ability to touch 90 mph on the mound. He was also Chatsworth's ace pitcher this spring.

Preston Tucker:

8-21-10 from: - http://projectprospect.com/article/2010/08/21/2010-cape-cod-wrapup - Perhaps the most disappointed Cape performance belonged to University of Florida first baseman Preston Tucker. After drilling opposing pitchers to the tune of .331/.436/.551 for the Gators, Tucker could only muster an .113/.165/.150 triple slash score in the Cape. Some of that line is surely bad luck, .130 BABIP, but there isn’t much good to take away from Tucker’s summer performance. The good news is that Tucker is much more the dominate slugger he showed during the college season than the pitcher-forced-to-hit he produced like in the Cape. Tucker has the patience and power potential to be a middle-of-the-order big league threat and, with a good spring, should still garner first-round consideration.

Dante Flores:

8-31-10 from: - http://www.prospectwire.com/pw/article.php?id=142 - Dante Flores - MIF, 5'9" 160, L/R, St. John Bosco HS (CA) - Initially Flores appeared to be a little guy that was hitting too many fly balls, even though he was making hard contact. As the event moved along, Flores continued to square up the ball and showed SHOCKING pop to the biggest parts of the field, including to left-centerfield. He stays behind the ball really well and keeps his hands inside it, allowing him to drive the ball to all fields. His approach vs LHPs was good. Flores also showed a near average arm and playmaking ability. He profiles best at 2nd base.
