Pitchers:
Yohan Almonte, Nick Carr, Zach Dotson, Jeurys Familia, Ryan Fraser, Matt Harvey, Michael Hebert, Brad Holt, Chase Huchingson, Brandon Moore, Akeel Morris, Scott Moviel, Eric Niesen, Greg Peavey, Armando Rodriguez, Luis Rojas, Domingo Tapia, Juan Urbina, Taylor Whitenton
-the first group… Almonte, Familia, Fraser, Harvey, Tapia, Rodriquez, and Urbina… are the current prospects an the future of the team. Familia needs all the instruction he can get and hopefully, somebody can reel in that velicty and make him a decent pitcher.
-it’s good to see draft picks Peavey and Huchingson, though I was hoping to see more of the 2010 class here
-the only AA/A+ starter of any stature is Moore, who I expected to be given the summer off for a good job done well…
Carr, Dotson, Holt, Whitenton, Moviel, and Niesen are currently considered reclamation projects for various reasons. This is probably the last chance to excel for a few of them.
Picking Hebert, Rojas, and Morris means the Mets have plans for them.
Others I am disappointed weren’t invited: Orlando Tovar, John Church, Mitch Houck, Guilaume Leduc, Angel Cuan, and Nelson Periera,
Absence may mean we’ve seen the last of them: Eddie Kunz, Roy Merritt, Scott Shaw, Rhiner Cruz, Carlos Muniz
Catchers:
Albert Cordero, Blake Forsythe, Jeff Glenn, Francisco Pena, Nelfi Zapata,
The choice of Forsythe is obvious, especially coming off a poor 2010 and senior college season.
Glenn and Zapata simply need the work.
The Mets are high on Cordero and I expect this means he gets a starting gig in 2011…
The Mets were very happy with the 2010 output by Pena and his continued work means they aren’t giving up on the kid yet.
Others I am disappointed weren’t invited: Juan Centeno
Absence may mean we’re seen the last of them: Luke Montz, Michael Moras, Dock Doyle, Jordan Abruzzo
Infielders:
Japhet Amador, Wilmer Flores, Zach Lutz, Jefry Marte, Daniel Murphy, Aderlin Rodriguez, Josh Satin, Robbie Shields, Wilfredo Tovar, Jordany Valdespin
Almador is a new kind from the Mexican League: -
http://baseballmexico.blogspot.com/2010 - Mexican star first baseman Japhet Amador is spending 20 days with the New York Mets Florida Instructional League team in September and October. Amador, the 2009 Mexican League co-Rookie of the Year, spent last summer with the Mexico City Diablos Rojos and hit .366 with 14 homers in 79 games despite a leg injury that sidelined him for three weeks. “I am going to Toluca to get the go-ahead and see if I can play,” the 6’4” Mulege native said. “Here at home, I’ve been walking and exercising. I get my therapy and I will know exactly when I can play.” Amador says he plans to head to the Guasave Algodoneros’ training camp when his time in Florida is up. “I’ll report to Guasave immediately after my commitment to the Mets. I think that between October 5 and 10 I’ll be completely ready for Guasave.”
You may see the beginning of Flores being converted to a new position here…
Murphy needs the work, but I’m surprised to see Lutz. He’s already proven his value and I would have expected him to have some time off this summer. Must be here to strengthen the bones.
The prospects are Rodriquez, Tovar, and Valdepsin, who is eligible for the Rule V this off-season.
Shields bounced back well from TJS this year and may be returning to his old prospect status. Good to see him still playing and the Mets not giving up on him.
Marte needs to excel or he may be left behind.
Others I’m disappointed weren’t invited: Ryan Molica, Travis Ozga, Joseph Bonfe.
Absence may mean we’re seen the last of them: Jose Coronado, Hector Pellot, Richard Lucas, Luis Nieve
Outfielders:
Darrell Ceciliani, Julio Concepcion, Matt Den Dekker, Rafael Fernandez Cesar Puello, Cory Vaughn, Pedro Zapata
Ceciliani, Den Dekker, Puello, and Vaughn are your obvious prospects.
Picking Concepcion, Zapata, and Fernandez shows they have earned a future with the Mets in 2011.
Others I’m disappointed weren’t invited: Cody Holiday, Charlie Hinojosa
Absence may mean we’re seen the last of them: Chase Greene, Kurt Steinhauer, Raul Reyes

This is exactly the stuff that makes me a Mack's Mets regular. Thanks.
I too am disappointed at the exclusion of Cuan, Houk, & Centeno. And I'll add Javier Rodriguez to that list. What's up with that?
I will answer this Saturday in a seperate post
