Savannah, GA – The Savannah Sand Gnats are pleased to announce the game times and dates for their 2011 South Atlantic
League Schedule. The Gnats’ 2011 home opener at Historic Grayson Stadium will be Friday, April 15th, versus the Greenville
Drive, the South Atlantic League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, at 7:05 pm. The season’s first homestand will feature nine straight days of baseball and family fun, wrapping up on Saturday, April 23rd with the Gnats’ second annual Hometown Heroes
Day, a celebration of local law enforcement, first responders and our military. Hometown Heroes Day is a free community event championed by the Savannah Chatham-Metropolitan Police Department.
The Gnats will celebrate America’s Independence Day at home on July 4, with a fireworks spectacular after Monday’s special 6:05 pm start. Savannah’s second-best July 4th Fireworks display is the only one to offer reserved seating and nine innings of America’s Pastime, all for one low price. The Gnats will open the 2011 regular season in Charleston, West Virginia on April 7th at 7:05 pm.
Standard game times for the 2011 season will be 7:05 pm Monday through Friday, 6:05 pm on Saturdays and 2:05 pm on Sundays. Saturday games will be followed by fireworks presented by KIX96. Five games will have special times for first pitch. On Memorial Day weekend, the Gnats will play the Charleston RiverDogs on Sunday, May 29 at 6:05 pm with fireworks scheduled to follow the game. The two teams will then play a Memorial Day Matinee at noon on Monday, May 30.
