Really doubt they'll outbid the Mets or the Marlins. Not with the pitchers they have that they'll be wanting to secure within the next few years and the contract they have Braun signed to already. If they were going to pony up, they should have ponied up for Cecil...I mean Prince Fielder.
I think they should re-sign Fielder as well but if they lose him I bet they make a play for Reyes. I thought, though, that Reyes said he just does not have a desire to play in Detroit or Milwaukee. I think a nice dollar total might chance that perspective a bit though. We'll have to see. Bottom line though is that the Marlins said they wanted to sign Reyes before the end of the weekend. Well; it's almost the end of the weekend and he's still a FA so that is a good sign.
