Mets Minor League Report – June 6

At this time Tacoma (36-24) leads Las Vegas (31-26) 9-1 in the bottom of the 8th.
Three Las Vegas pitchers, D.J. Mitchell, Greg Peavey, and Armando Rodriguez, have gotten creamed.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis, 1-4 with a 2B, scored the 51’s only run.
Not much offense to speak of.

Binghamton (35-25) edges Trenton (32-28) 5-4.
Cory Mazzoni: 6.2 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 10 K. A little high on the walks, but otherwise a good outing.
Jack Leathersich: 0.2 IP, 1 R, H, 2 BB, 2 K. The Jack of earlier in the season resurfaces. (Too bad.) Lack of control, but got both outs via the K.
Jeff Walters: (BS, 2) (W, 3-2) 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 K. Walters came in to relieve Leathersich in the 8th, after Leather Jack had loaded the bases with 1 out. He allowed one of the inherited runners to score on a sac fly, blowing the save, but getting the win when the Mets regained the lead in the bottom of the 8th.
Cesar Puello: 2-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 2 R.    Fantastic! Puello now has 5 HR in his last 4 G. AVG. - .320, SLG. - .602

Lakeland (24-34) @ St Lucie (30-27) cancelled (rain).

Lexington (31-28) @ Savannah (35-23) cancelled (rain).
