TRAVIS TAIJERON NAMED FSL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA. — The Florida State League announced on Monday that St. Lucie Mets outfielder Travis Taijeron was named the league’s Player of the Week for the period of May 27- June 2.
Taijeron was named the Florida State League Player of the Week for the second time this season as he also was recognized from the period of April 29-May 5.
Taijeron batted. 500 and had nine hits, including four home runs and five RBIs as well as three doubles in six games played.
Taijeron, an 18th round selection out of Cal Poly Pomona in 2011, has hit safely in eight straight games. Taijeron, 24, is hitting .313 with nine home runs and 27 RBIs in 53 games played.
