TONIGHT’S SAND GNAT GAME VS LEXINGTON HAS BEEN CANCELLED

TONIGHT’S GAME VS LEXINGTON HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Final game of series has been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Andrea

Savannah, GA – Tonight’s game between the Sand Gnats and the Lexington Legends has been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Andrea. The storm brought rain to Savannah this morning and afternoon, and is forecasted to bring heavy rain and gusty winds this evening.

The Championship Season rules of the South Atlantic League do not allow the game to be made up because the Sand Gnats and the Legends do not face each other again in the First Half of the season.
“The safety of our fans, our players, the Legends players and our staff are critically important,” said Sand Gnats team president, John Katz. “Having everyone in a safe place during a potentially dangerous storm is my top priority.”

The Gnats hold a half-game edge over the Charleston RiverDogs with 11 games remaining in the First Half. The First Half ends with a seven-game homestand beginning on June 10th and ending on Father’s Day, June 16th.
Tickets held for tonight’s game will be valid at any remaining 2013 regular season home game, subject to availability. Tickets may be exchanged at the Box Office for a ticket of equal or lesser value.
