Pena started his career out at the University of Florida, transferred to the College of Central Florida and will now spend his junior season at the University of South Florida. This past spring, Pena hit .330 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 8 HR’s and 32 RBI’s. The Venezuelan infielder hit .282 with 6 doubles, 3 triples, 3 HR’s and 31 RBI’s for the league champion Snappers. Pena has a strong athletic frame and fringe actions in the infield with a solid arm. He has quick hands through the zone and shows power potential with the bat.

 PG-

Roberto Pena is a 2018 3B/RHP with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Pembroke Pines, FL who attends Charles W Flanagan HS. Big and strong athletic build, pretty mature physically. 7.11 runner, has good athleticism and footwork at third base, huge raw arm strength. Right handed hitter, crouched stance at the plate with a high hand load, very good raw bat speed, ball really comes off the barrel hard when he's on top of it, tends to get hands too far inside at times, best when getting the barrel out front and turned, potential to be a very high level hitter. Has really taken a step forward on the mound, lower arm slow from drop and drive mechanics, arm stroke is very smooth and easy, gets crossfire angle to the plate. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 93 mph, threw both a curveball and slider but slider a much better pitch at present, gets around it but has good spin and can be tightened up. Very interesting ceiling on both sides of the ball.

Mack's spin -

Pena has both the defensive skills and potential power to exceed in organized ball. He really wowed those around him last season. The only negative I see is that he needs to settle in with one school.

I see him being definitely picked in the first three rounds.

I really like this kid.
