Townsend is a plus runner with very good instincts on the base paths and in the outfield. He has a lean athletic frame and gets good jumps on the ball while taking solid routes. Offensively he has a slashy left-handed swing and showed good contact skills. This summer he stole 27 bases and hit .255 with 1 double and 7 RBI’s. With another year before being draft eligible, we see Jalen developing into a quality prospect for the 2021 MLB Draft.
