Scouting Report - RHP - Chase Allsup

Chase Allsup

RHP         6-2         210          Dothan HS (AL)

11-7-2020 - PG -

Chase Allsup (2021 Dothan, AL) simply has serious arm strength with a fastball that touched 95 mph late in the fall and plenty of life to the pitch. He has the makings of a power sider and it will be monitored to see if he gains confidence in the pitch. For now, that arm strength will cause scouts to come in early and often to watch him pitch in the spring.

Chase Allsup is a 2021 RHP/1B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Dothan, AL who attends Dothan. Big and strong physical build, pretty mature physically. Rocker step delivery with some energy through release, creates good plane to the plate. Fastball topped out at 92 mph with some heaviness at the plate. Threw two types of breaking balls, a big and slow get me over curveball and a sharper slider that created some swing and miss. Developing change up. Chance to be a starter at the next level with further development of his secondary pitches. 7.49 runner, showed off his arm strength during drills well. Switch hitter, hits from an open stance with a late move into contact from both sides, has some hand quickness and strength at contact, pull side approach

Another legitimate two way threat. Has a smooth left handed stroke and really hits for power and creates torque in his lower half. Does a good job of staying short and keeping the barrel through the zone. Advanced defensively as a 3B with arm strength to show. On the mound he is a mid to upper 80's guy that can really pitch, flashing a curveball with legit depth and a developing changeup. Will be interesting to see where he ends up on the field.

Mack's spin -

Allsup will be drafted somewhere on Day 2, but, if I was him, I would go to college and work on perfecting his delivery.

Potentially, he could be a future star of this game.
