Big, tall, well-built lefty with a really strong feel to spin the baseball. Fastball consistently guns ~2600 RPMs. Both breaking balls consistently exceed 2800 RPMs with some 3000+ reps thrown in. Generally 90-93/95 with a mid 80s slider and slower curve. Has shown the ability to vary his delivery. Pretty athletic for his size. Garnett can look like the absolute best arm in the entire class at times, but he'll go for extended outings struggling to throw any strikes. Command must improve, especially if he hopes to be a starter at the next level.

Travis Garnett is a 2021 LHP/1B with a 6-6 225 lb. frame from Pasadena, MD who attends Indian Creek School. Extra big and strong athletic build. Very high leg lift delivery going to an extended mid-3/4's arm slot, lots of arm/leg deception to go with the lower slot, quick arm, very athletic delivery for an athlete this size. Fastball topped out at 93 mph, big velocity jump from the last time seen, also showed the ability to drop true sidearm at 88 mph. High spin rate slider up to 3,000 rpm, tight and big at times, slider can be close to an unhittable pitch for left handed hitters with the arm slot and quality. Developing change up with some present feel. Size, deception and bump in raw stuff is an impressive package.

Garnett has had some problems throwing strikes in spurts this summer and the command projection remains of real concern, but his stuff was as loud as ever at WWBA, working his fastball into the low-90s with outstanding life and showing a nasty slider and changeup as well, missing bats with ease with all three. With more command, Garnett will have a choice to make between pro ball and Maryland next summer.
This past weekend, Indian Creek rising senior Travis Garnett impressed at a high-level baseball on a countrywide stage, the Perfect Game National Showcase.
It was a possibility unheard of a month ago, both playing baseball and doing so in a way that could grab a Major League Baseball scout’s attention, thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that cut Garnett’s high school season short.
Unheard of, that is, until Garnett received his invite a few weeks ago.
The annual event, held this year June 17-21 in Alabama, collects what it considers the elite crop of high school players and puts their skills on display for college recruiters and professional league scouts. Since the event’s inception in 2001, 404 former Perfect Game participants have played in the big leagues and nearly 2,500 have been selected in the MLB draft.

This is a talented pitcher.
Huge spin rate on all of his pitches and he is already hitting 95 with his fastball.
And who doesn't love a 6-6 lefty?
He will go early and I would pick him if he was still around in the 4th round.

Travis Garnett is an attractive talent
This sounds like a difference maker, and difference makers don’t last until the fourth round. He will be gone by the end of the second. I’d say that whatever team wants him shouldn’t sit on it’s hand for long, unless there’s player available they like better. I know this is to be a deeep draft, but difference makers... how deep?
Top talent will stretch into the 5th round.
